I am not sure if anyone ever told you, but astrology is for the soul. Now before you roll your eyes and close this tab, hear me out.
I grew up in a Pentecostal family so it wasn't a welcome belief to consult the stars. I knew that I was a Capricorn from the magazines (that I would sneak and buy), but I didn't know anything deeper than that. I also did not show it much interest.
Now it would probably be my friend Buffy in my early adult years that inspired me to go deeper. She didn't intentionally inspire me, but I really admired her.
She was so cool and beautiful. Her sun sign was Taurus ruled by Venus. So not only was she very grounding to have in my life, but very patient and very aethestic. This girl also loved her sign! So much!!!
Buffy had an app and a website that she looked into her horoscope. I remember sometimes she would post it, sometimes she would send it to me in excitement, and sometimes she would inspire me to go check out my own sign. I really struggled to relate to it though and I honestly didn't know anything about the other signs. I would only read about my sign trying to find a connection that I never really could find. Then one day she brought tarot cards and an astrology book which invited me to explore a realm that had always been so taboo in my life.
Astrology and Tarot were labeled as witchcraft in my world and I was being so daring to explore this type of information. Especially being in a family that rejected their magic due to fear.
So when my husband was at work, we dove in. The book took you on a journey to understand the archetypes of each sign and showed me the language of the planets. (Which I had no clue were so important.) The tarot cards opened something deep inside that screamed, 'Find your truth!" and even showed me things that were to come. Oh the fun that I had in those moments! I did not realize that they would set the stage for my entire life. (Especially when the first reading I did for myself told me that I would be divorced.) *YIKES*
When I found out that the 3 magi's were astrologers and that astrology is spread throughout the bible encouraging people to know the language, I felt mislead and hurt by the church's that taught me that fear. So I released my attachment to religion and I went on a journey to discover what 'source' or 'God' means to me and I allowed astrology to hold my hand, guide me, and carry me on a journey I will always cherish. Going on this journey, challenged the things that I had always known and encouraged me to do my own research instead of listening to other people's interpretations.
After that, my life COMPLETELY fell apart, because for the first time in my life I realized I had never done anything I truly wanted. I did a lot of things to try to fit in, but never did I do anything that I really craved. I did what I was 'supposed' to.
I did end up getting a divorce, because I needed to find myself and I didn't want the ideals I had about relating to others to define the work I was meant to do. A piece of my deep self awakened from that experience and although I was not sure how to move forward, it changed something deep in me. It inspired me to connect deeper with the Appalachian Witches in my bloodline and to go even deeper with astrology.
The first step in going deep with this language was understanding my own birth chart.
You may even be wondering, "What is a birth chart?"
Well only a map of the heavens at the exact moment you were born!
Astrology opened a door to discover my soul in a deeper way and understand why I am the way I am. I just really wanted to face my trauma from a different angle and find out, "Why me?" and it answered those questions, because every sign has it's light and shadowed traits. Every planet has its own motivation and channel of energy! The house system shows us where energy is focused and the angles in the chart share so much about an individual relating to their strengths and weaknesses. So to put it in simple terms - The birth chart is vast and deep.
Now lets fast forward 7 years! I am a professional astrologer and transpersonal & trauma focused hypnotherapist. I also now study many different types of astrology. I connect with clients all over the world to guide them on their soul journey's and I facilitate the shifts for them to change their lives! Using astrology I am able to find the strengths, weaknesses, discover life purpose, reflect on past lives, connect to the soul's desire, and really vibe with the evolution of the soul.
OH and let me mention, I got into my DREAM School MISPA. I am a Psychological Astrology student and I look forward to bringing so many nuggets of wisdoms from that school of thought.
